Heidi Hartwig

Heidi Hartwig, a photographer and director, enjoyed the sun-soaked ambiance of 80s Los Angeles before immersing herself in the concrete jungle of 90s NYC during her formative years. This juxtaposition infuses her visual storytelling with a blend of laid-back California vibes and sharp streetwise intellect.

Her debut feature film, "Wonder Valley," premiered at the Atlanta Film Festival in 2017 and found its way to Amazon Prime Video via IndieWire. Balancing a love for portrait photography and filmmaking, Heidi directed the Queer Horror short "Disforia," which debuted at The NYC Film Festival and earned acclaim at festivals across the US.

Heidi's versatile portfolio spans narrative and commercial realms, collaborating with clients like Suzuki, Walgreens, Panasonic, Nikon, and prominent artists such as Mel Brooks, Sean Penn, Zoe Kravitz, Krysten Ritter, Rihanna, and Jonny Rotten of the Sex Pistols.

Infusing a youthful and adventurous expression into her work, Heidi employs a female gaze that uncovers unseen facets of her subjects. Recognized globally by publications, creative agencies, and esteemed directors, she recently created the Key Art for Paul Schrader's film "The Card Counter," produced by Martin Scorsese, and contributed stills to Guy Ritchie's latest WW2 film, "The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare."

Heidi splits her time between Los Angeles, New York, and Berlin, currently developing her next feature film. In addition to her creative endeavors, she hosts dance parties in LA & NY known as Friends From New York—where everyone is invited to get loose.
