Heidi Hartwig began her career as a music, celebrity and fashion photographer.
She has shot the likes of Sean Penn, Mel Brooks, Seth Meyers & Kristen Ritter.
Hartwig has also shot promo art for both film and television, with her work ending up on billboards across the US.
Her key art for Bret Easton Ellis’s debut TV series won a Webby Award this past year.
She first got into film direction through a series of fashion film commissions that ultimately activated her love for creating moving images.
In 2016, Hartwig directed her first feature film Wonder Valley, which premiered at the Atlanta Film Festival, and has just received a distribution deal through Indie Rights.
Hartwig's commercial campaigns include work for clients such as Suzuki, Kohl's, Panasonic, and Walgreens.
Hartwig earned her degree from Emerson College in Boston, and now splits her time between Brooklyn, Los Angeles, and Berlin.
